Piezoelectric ceramics can output performance according to limited parameters in a short time, but we will not recommend this method. When long-term reliability, long-term operation and high duty cycle are necessary, successful short-term test of piezoelectric system does not mean that long-term operation is equally safe and reliable. Incorrect operation will not damage piezoelectric ceramics immediately, but it will reduce long-term reliability and fail to achieve the expected working cycle.
The reliability of piezoelectric ceramics is affected by the mechanical structure of the load, driving control, operating environment and other conditions. In most applications, due to cost reasons, users often want to use the smaller the piezoelectric ceramics, the better. However, this makes the piezoelectric ceramic components become the weakest link in many mechanical design structures. In addition, piezoelectric ceramics is a relatively complex material It is very sensitive. Improper operation is easy to cause damage.


In order to improve the reliability of piezoelectric ceramics, we usually use metal shell packaging to reduce the lateral force that the external mechanical structure may bring to the piezoelectric ceramics. However, even if we use the piezoelectric actuator with shell packaging, it is necessary to deepen the technical background of the application of decompression ceramics, and ensure high reliability through appropriate design and operation.
Even if the structure of piezoelectric system has been proved to be reliable, any seemingly small changes need to be reevaluated. In some practical applications, the reliability of piezoelectric ceramics is often discussed under the following two limit conditions.
Every link in the operation process must be strictly controlled. Through actual test and evaluation procedures, overload, unreasonable mechanical structure, mechanical compensation and correction of improper driving conditions must be avoided, so as to achieve high reliability.


Electronic ceramics can be divided into five categories according to their functions and uses: insulating ceramics, capacitor ceramics, ferroelectric ceramics, semiconductor ceramics and ion ceramics.

 1. Application on special sensitive ceramic automotive sensors
 Electronic ceramic sensors for automobiles are required to be suitable for a long time in the harsh environment of automobiles (high temperature, low temperature, vibration, acceleration, humidity, sound, exhaust gas), and should have the characteristics of small and light weight, good reusability, and wide output range. Ceramic heat-resistance, corrosion-resistance, wear-resistance and its potential excellent electromagnetic and optical functions have been fully utilized in recent years with the advancement of manufacturing technology. Sensors made of sensitive ceramic materials can fully meet the above requirements.

2. Application of ceramic materials in automobile spraying technology
 In recent years, aerospace technology has widely used ceramic film spraying technology and began to be applied to automobiles. The advantages of this technology are good thermal effect, can withstand high temperature and pressure, mature technology, and stable quality. In order to achieve the goal of low heat dissipation, ceramic spraying can be applied to the engine combustion chamber components, such as zirconia spray on the top of the piston and zirconia spray on the cylinder liner. After this treatment, the engine can reduce heat loss, reduce the quality of the engine itself, reduce the size of the engine, and reduce fuel consumption.

3. Application of alumina ceramic automobile shock absorber
 The high-end car damping device comprehensively utilizes the positive piezoelectric effect of sensitive ceramics and the electrostrictive effect of the inverse piezoelectric effect of alumina ceramics to successfully develop intelligent shock absorbers. Due to the use of high-sensitivity ceramic components, this shock absorber has the function of identifying the road surface and can do self-adjustment, which can minimize the vibration of the car due to the rough road surface.
